Invisalign
kids, teen & adult
There are so many people who avoid orthodontic treatment because they cannot stand the thought of wearing braces and they believe that “they are not a candidate for Invisalign”. For many of these individuals, the Invisalign treatment system is ideal for them.
Invisalign treatment has improved significantly in recent years. At NA Ortho, we successfully treat complicated cases with Invisalign every day. We are an Invisalign Platinum+ Provider, meaning we are more experienced with Invisalign than most providers.
Invisalign treatment consists of a series of virtually invisible, clear aligners worn 22 hours a day. The clear aligners are switched every week over the course of treatment, gradually straightening your teeth with each aligner.
Appointments are usually every 8-10 weeks and Invisalign treatment generally lasts 6-24 months. Aligners are removed to eat, drink and brush your teeth.
Drs. Greenberg, Rana and Grace utilize iTero 3D digital scanning technology with Invisalign treatment. Impressions are no longer needed, so no there is goop and no gagging!

invisalign attachments

Invisalign attachments are small, tooth-colored shapes bonded to certain teeth during Invisalign® treatment. They act like “handles,” helping aligners grip teeth so they move more precisely. Attachments blend in naturally and are barely noticeable, but they make Invisalign more effective for correcting more complex movements.

Invisalign® FAQs – NA Orthodontics
Q1: What is Invisalign and how does it work?
A: Invisalign uses a series of custom, clear aligners that gently move teeth in small steps. You’ll switch to a new set about every week as your smile progresses.
Q2: How long does Invisalign treatment take?
A: Most cases take 6–24 months, depending on your bite and goals. Some complex cases may take longer.
Q3: How many hours per day do I need to wear aligners?
A: Wear aligners 20–22 hours daily. Remove only to eat, brush and floss.
Q4: How often are Invisalign checkups?
A: Typically every 8–10 weeks. We monitor fit, track tooth movement and deliver your next aligners.
Q5: What dental issues can Invisalign treat?
A: Invisalign can correct crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. We treat mild to complex cases and most patients are candidates.
Q6: Will I need attachments or elastics?
A: Many patients use small tooth-colored attachments and sometimes elastics to guide precise movements. They’re discreet and temporary.
Q7: What is IPR and why is it needed with Invisalign?
A: IPR (Interproximal Reduction) is a safe technique where small areas between teeth are gently polished to create space. It helps reduce crowding, reshapes teeth to avoid black triangles, can also help with bite correction and may improve gum health. IPR is painless and commonly used in Invisalign treatment.
Q8: Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?
A: You will want to remove aligners to eat. Drinking water while they’re in is fine. You can drink other beverages with Invisalign with caution. Sugary drinks can trap sugars under aligners, so we recommend limiting them and rinsing or brushing after your beverage. Some colored beverages may stain your aligners, especially coffee, tea, red wine, soda, juices and sports drinks.
Q9: How do I clean my aligners?
A: Rinse with cool water, brush with a toothbrush and dish soap, or use Invisalign cleaning crystals. Never use hot water or boil aligners. Products like Retainer Brite with an ultrasonic cleaner also work well.
Q10: What if I lose or crack an aligner?
A: Move to the next set. If you have lost multiple aligners or have no more aligners at home, call our office as soon as possible for evaluation and replacement aligners.
Q11: Is Invisalign good for kids and teens?
A: Yes. Invisalign can treat early orthodontic issues and is great for growing smiles, helping guide new teeth into place.
Q12: Do aligners affect speech?
A: Most patients speak clearly with Invisalign, and it rarely affects speech.
Q13: How much does Invisalign cost? Do you take insurance?
A: Costs vary by case complexity and treatment length. We accept most orthodontic insurance and offer flexible payment plans to fit your budget.
Q14: Will I need retainers after Invisalign?
A: Yes. Wearing retainers after any orthodontic treatment (Invisalign or braces) keeps teeth in their new positions and protects your new smile.
Q15: Where are you located?
A: NA Orthodontics has offices in North Arlington and Jersey City, NJ. We serve the communities of Lyndhurst, Kearny, Rutherford, Harrison, Secaucus, Belleville, Bloomfield, Nutley, Newark, Clifton, Passaic and Hoboken.
Q16: How do I book an appointment?
A: You can book online for a new patient consultation or call us directly at 201-991-4447
