Q2: How do Self-Ligating braces work?
A: Self-Ligating braces use clips instead of elastics to hold the wire, reducing friction for smoother tooth movement, greater comfort and easier cleaning.

Q3: Are Self-Ligating braces faster than traditional braces?
A: Yes. With less friction, treatment can be faster and more efficient, often requiring fewer office visits.

Q4: Do braces hurt?
A: You may feel mild pressure after adjustments, but Self-Ligating systems are designed for greater comfort and less soreness than traditional braces.

Q5: How long does treatment usually take?
A: Treatment typically ranges from 6–24 months, depending on your bite and compliance with care instructions.

Q6: How often are appointments?
A: Most patients are seen every 8–10 weeks, thanks to the efficiency of Self-Ligating braces.

Q7: What foods should I avoid with braces?
A: Avoid hard, sticky and chewy foods. Cut firm foods into smaller pieces to protect your brackets and wires.

Q8: How do I clean and care for braces?
A: Brush morning and night and after meals if possible. Floss or Waterpik daily.  Continue regular professional dental cleanings for healthy gums and teeth.

Q9: Are clear braces good for adults?
A: Absolutely. Clear Self-Ligating braces are made from non-staining porcelain, blending naturally with teeth for a discreet, professional look.

Q10: Do clear braces stain?
A: No. The brackets are stain-resistant. Traditional clear braces use elastic ties that can discolor, but Self-Ligating braces do not require those.

Q11: Am I a candidate for Self-Ligating braces vs. Invisalign®?
A: Many patients qualify for both and we’ll recommend the treatment best suited for you and your lifestyle.
