caring for your teeth during orthodontics
Once you've started orthodontic treatment, it is more important than ever to maintain a good oral hygiene routine. With braces, brushing and flossing will take some extra care to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Here are some of our favorite home care products you may not have at home:

Manual Toothbrush-
Relies on your technique; affordable, simple, and effective when used with proper brushing habits.
tooth brushing
during orthodontics
Brush at least twice daily for two minutes with gentle circular motions, making sure to clean plaque from your gums and gumline. Good brushing habits during orthodontic treatment prevents tooth staining, plaque build up and cavities. Keeping your braces clean also helps prevent broken braces.

Sonic Toothbrush-
Cleans with rapid vibrations, removing more plaque and reaching tight spaces for a deeper, more effective clean. Also effective at preventing tooth staining. We highly recommend the Sonicare 4100 as it is the best priced sonic toothbrush with everything you need without the extra bells and whistles.

flossing
Water flossers (ie. Waterpik) use a gentle stream to clean between teeth and around braces, removing plaque and food particles, making daily orthodontic care easier.
String floss removes plaque and food between teeth and under wires. Essential during orthodontics, it protects gums, prevents cavities, and supports a healthier, cleaner smile throughout treatment.

fluoride Rinses
Daily fluoride rinses strengthen enamel, protect against cavities and reduce the risk of white spots, helping keep teeth healthy and strong throughout orthodontic treatment.
